KLANGPLÄTZE BASEL
Soundscape composition | 4-channel installation | 7'34 | 2020
This work focuses on the more unsettling auditory experiences of everyday urban life.
It concentrates on the soundscape and the acoustic interactions of various locations in Basel. The urban sound environment is analyzed for characteristic sounds and their effects on space. The collected material is processed and arranged into a narrative composition. The piece provides an opportunity to rediscover familiar everyday sounds as well as those that are usually lost in the bustle of the city and go unnoticed.
In the four-channel installation, visitors experience an urban spatial feeling, shaped by the distinctive soundscape of Baselat the border triangle. The installation was presented during the Art Week for Climate Protection at GEDOK, the artists' forum in Karlsruhe, from February 26 to March 1, 2020
